The Summer Intensive Nurse Extern is a time-limited externship (May 11–July 10, 2026) at UofL Health that immerses nursing students in a professional hospital environment to support the transition from student to RN. Externs work alongside registered nurses across clinical specialties, gaining hands-on experience and developing clinical reasoning and professional competencies.
