The Surgical Technologist assists in the preparation and care of surgical patients under the direction of a nurse or physician. The role requires expertise in sterile/aseptic technique, anatomy, surgical procedures, and use of surgical technologies to support surgeons during invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Work is performed in the operating room/perioperative setting across a variety of surgical specialties.
