ACLU of Northern California is the regional affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union that defends and advances civil rights and civil liberties across Northern California. The organization combines impact litigation, policy and legislative advocacy, community organizing, and public education to protect free speech, privacy, voting and immigrant rights, reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights, and to challenge discriminatory policing and mass incarceration. Working with individuals, communities, and partner organizations, ACLU NorCal provides legal representation and strategic campaigns to drive systemic change. Donors, volunteers, and policymakers turn to the affiliate for experienced legal teams and grassroots mobilization to preserve constitutional freedoms in the region.
