Outpatient Referrals & Authorizations Rep

This position is responsible for financially clearing all outpatient referrals as ordered by the referring provider, including processing referrals in the EMR, verifying insurance eligibility, and obtaining necessary authorizations. The role involves contacting patients to discuss coverage, maintaining statistical information regarding payers, and communicating with providers and staff regarding denials. The position also provides guidance to department representatives and establishes inter-departmental communication to resolve issues affecting orders.
