About this role

A Packaging Engineer designs, develops, and validates returnable and expendable packaging systems for complex automotive components. The role involves collaborating with program management, manufacturing, and OEM customers to optimize transportation efficiency and protect product integrity throughout the lifecycle. Engineers will manage supplier relationships, conduct validation testing, and implement cost reduction strategies for packaging solutions.

Responsibilities

Design and develop returnable packaging for automotive assemblies using CAD tools
Execute drop, vibration, and transportation simulation testing per industry standards
Interface directly with OEM customers to implement packaging specifications
Manage and oversee packaging suppliers from RFQ through production tool releases
Optimize packaging designs to maximize cube utilization and minimize freight costs
