CONNECT ACADEMY - Therapeutic Day Programs for Special Needs Students
Paraprofessionals provide essential support to certified teachers and clinicians by assisting in the implementation of curriculum, individualized education plans, and behavior plans for students. They help create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment, manage crises using de-escalation techniques, and support students in both academic and social-emotional growth. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, paraprofessionals reinforce lesson content, model appropriate behaviors, and assist with daily routines to promote student success and independence.
The Connect Academy provides state-approved therapeutic day programs and structured alternative placement programs for students with emotional, behavioral, developmental, learning, and school engagement needs. With campuses in Carol Stream, Lombard, and Addison, Illinois, their programs serve students from early childhood through high school, offering individualized instruction, integrated therapies, and relationship-based learning environments. Programs include a Pre-K–12 therapeutic day program, Pathways Academy for students with autism, and ReConnect Academy, a restorative alternative placement program for general education students in grades 9–12.
