A Machine Learning Engineer on a16z’s Applied Software Group builds, deploys, and monitors ML models and pipelines that power internal and external-facing products. The role owns the full model lifecycle—from feature engineering and training to large-scale, low-latency serving and MLOps infrastructure—and requires strong software engineering fundamentals and architectural vision. This is a high-visibility, startup-like team that collaborates closely with the investing partnership and expects a hybrid San Francisco presence (2–3 days/week).
