Patent Manager

This role serves as the primary owner of patent portfolio operations and IP strategy for a large life sciences and MedTech portfolio within an academic technology transfer office. The position involves overseeing the full patent lifecycle, managing outside counsel and vendors, and providing strategic guidance on IP commercialization while ensuring Bayh-Dole regulatory adherence. The Patent Manager exercises independent judgment to navigate complex, high-stakes matters related to prosecution strategies, budget management, and portfolio governance.
