A Patient Access Associate (PAA) at a hospital-based healthcare facility serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate patient identification, registration, and documentation while maintaining regulatory compliance and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Identify and document patients in the Master Patient Index
Conduct face-to-face interviews to obtain patient demographic and financial information
Process and act on Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) messages
Identify and resolve insurance verification issues
Schedule appointments, surgeries, and other medical procedures according to patient and provider preferences
