About this role

The Patient Support Technician functions as a collaborative member of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing direct patient care and coordinating unit processes. Responsibilities include providing basic bedside care, managing activities of daily living, assisting with nutritional support, and monitoring vital signs and specific procedures like venipuncture and 12-lead EKGs.

Responsibilities

Provides basic bedside care and selected procedures under registered nurse supervision
Performs activities of daily living appropriate to the patient's condition
Collects and monitors vital signs including respiratory care and pulse oximetry
Assists with nutritional support including feeding and intake documentation
Recognizes life-threatening conditions and initiates initial responses
