About this role
The Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care and support for activities of daily living on a 24-bed Medicine unit, working under the direction of an RN. The role involves observing and documenting patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and supporting a diverse inpatient population. It is based at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and contributes to the nursing team's delivery of high-quality care.

Qualifications
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
- US Navy Hospital Corps School
- EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic
- Current Student in Clinical Program (≥1 semester RN/LPN/RT/PT)
- PCT or Nursing Assistant Experience (within last 3 years)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
