About this role
The Patient Care Technician is a frontline clinical support role within Sentara Norfolk General Hospital’s Resource Pool, providing bedside support across multiple units. This position is based in Norfolk, VA on the third (night) shift at a 525‑bed tertiary care, Level I trauma teaching hospital. It is part of the hospital’s nursing support structure and participates in the broader patient care mission.

Qualifications
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Sentara Care Partner Certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
- US Navy Hospital Corps School
- EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic
- Enrollment In Clinical Program (RN/LPN/RT/PT)
- PCT Or Nursing Assistant Experience (within 3 years)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
