About this role
A Patient Care Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital supports patient care in a 24-bed stepdown/intermediate care unit specializing in vascular disorders and transplant patients. The role works under the direction of an RN, monitors and documents patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions, and contributes to overall patient safety. The position is based at a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is a Level I trauma center and teaching hospital.

Qualifications
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Sentara Care Partner Certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
- US Navy Hospital Corps School
- EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic
- Enrollment In Clinical Program (RN/LPN/RT/PT)
- Recent PCT/Nursing Assistant Experience
- Basic Life Support Certification
