About this role
The Patient Care Technician provides direct bedside care and supports patients with activities of daily living in a 24-bed stepdown/intermediate care unit serving transplant and vascular patients. The role supports nurses by performing vital signs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKG and point-of-care testing, peripheral IV and foley care, and documents patient condition and changes.

Qualifications
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Sentara Care Partner Certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
- US Navy Hospital Corps School
- EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic
- Current Clinical Student (RN/LPN/RT/PT)
- Recent PCT or Nursing Assistant Experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
