Patient Safety Companion

The Patient Safety Companion provides continuous observation and monitoring of patients at risk of self-harm, wandering, or injury to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment and support the delivery of care. This role involves monitoring and documenting patient behavior, redirecting or de-escalating as appropriate, and assisting with basic safety, comfort, and activities of daily living. Team members may be assigned to any of the Des Moines or West Des Moines hospital campuses.
