Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including fringe benefits, employment contracts, and compliance with state and federal labor laws for public schools. This role involves maintaining extensive knowledge of OCAS coding, reconciling payroll deductions, and ensuring compliance with IRS, SSA, and SDE reporting requirements. The specialist collaborates with human resources and the business office to support district personnel functions and resolve payroll discrepancies.
