# On‑Call / As‑Needed (Non‑Benefited) Position **Pay Rate (Union – SEIU Local 521)** - Step 1 (entry level, < 1 yr): **$35.49 /hr** - Step 6 (15 yr): **$39.19 /hr** --- ## Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. **Resident Safety & Facility Upkeep** - Identify and correct safety hazards or report them to the Program Manager/Assistant Manager and Maintenance. - Keep work areas clean; assist with daily housekeeping and supply management. 2. **Milieu & Mental‑Health Rehabilitation / Case Management** - Conduct observations, client interviews, and evaluations to assess cognitive and functional levels; recommend treatment plans. - Build therapeutic rapport and trust with clients. - Provide restorative, functional, and preventive therapeutic services, including: - Planning and delivering activity programs that serve both as evaluation tools and therapeutic processes. - Facilitating individual and group rehabilitation counseling to develop life‑skills, coping, and independent‑living abilities; develop curricula. - Schedule psychiatric consultations and maintain case notes. - Assist clients in obtaining primary‑care physicians, coordinating care, and handling medical appointments, transportation, and follow‑up. - Help clients navigate insurance benefits to expedite treatment and payment. - Link clients and families to professional and community resources, including: - Coordinating care with other programs and case managers. - Communicating with probation officers, conservators, courts, and external agencies. - Conducting telephone interviews, housing placement assistance, and crisis intervention. - Assessing and improving independent‑living skills, budgeting, health‑and‑safety education, medication education, and emergency response (including 5150 holds). - Providing back‑up support for staff during client crises. 3. **Team/Program Resource Management** - Participate in managing discretionary resources to meet client needs. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on treatment, progress, and discharge planning. 4. **Clinical Documentation & Administrative Work** - Develop and implement individual service and treatment plans; consult with clinicians for approvals. - Document progress regularly; update treatment plans per agency guidelines; perform annual psychosocial assessments. - Complete admission and discharge paperwork, set up case conferences, and produce discharge summaries. - Enter and maintain up‑to‑date clinical records; submit billable hours promptly. - Conduct monthly medical record audits, collect reports/data, and perform general office duties (phone, email, timecard processing). 5. **Transportation** - Provide transportation for clients or program supplies using personal or agency vehicles. 6. **On‑Call Floor Coverage** - Provide cooking, house coverage, and participate in after‑hours rotation and debriefings. 7. **First‑Aid** - Perform first‑aid in emergency situations. --- ## Other Duties and Responsibilities - Offer consultation and back‑up to staff during client crises. - Attend and participate in weekly/monthly staff, program, agency, and community meetings; conduct trainings as needed. - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and other regulatory requirements. - On a backup basis, oversee medication documentation and issuance to clients. --- ## Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required | Category | Details | |---|---| | **Education / Experience** | - HS diploma/GED + 5 yr experience **or** Associate + 3 yr **or** Bachelor + 2 yr **or** Master + 1 yr in a human‑service/mental‑health setting (essential).
