The Peer Specialist provides support to individuals enrolled in Supportive Crisis Residence who are experiencing challenges in daily life that create risk for an escalation of symptoms. Through the use of Recovery Oriented Services, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing and Intentional Peer Support, the role provides recovery support, health and wellness coaching, and crisis intervention. The position aims to stabilize crises and support a safe return to the community while preventing unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations.
