About this role

The Peer Support Specialist in the Health and Legal System (HEALS) Lab provides guidance and support to program participants on mental health practices, accessing services, and sustaining sobriety. Working under licensed behavioral health providers, the specialist serves as a role model, consumer advocate, and assists with goal setting, resource navigation, and community outreach, both on‑site and virtually.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals in identifying personal recovery goals
Provide community resource referrals for housing, childcare, and transportation
Conduct outreach and education to community partners and sites
Document interactions and maintain meticulous records
Collaborate with clinical staff on post‑discharge follow‑up procedures
