Peer Support Specialist

Under general supervision, a Peer Support Specialist assists consumers in recovery and community living by sharing personal experiences with mental illness or substance abuse. The role involves providing paraprofessional support to help consumers develop coping, self-help, and communication skills while modeling recovery principles. The specialist also ensures client safety, participates in leisure activities, and maintains a working knowledge of center policies and licensure regulations.
