Perfusionist, Per Diem

This role involves operating and maintaining perfusion equipment, such as the heart-lung machine, to maintain homeostasis during open-heart surgical procedures. The perfusionist works under the direction of cardiac surgeons and anesthesiologists to monitor patient status, manage anticoagulation, and ensure adequate perfusion. Day-to-day supervision is provided by the Director of Perfusion and Autotransfusion.
