The Pharmacy Medication Support Specialist facilitates prescription prior authorization and refill requests under the supervision of the Medication Access Manager. This role involves obtaining necessary forms for insurance authorizations, evaluating refill requests against protocol criteria, and ensuring patients have access to needed medications through benefits investigations and financial assistance options. The position serves as the primary contact for all medication authorization and refill inquiries within the Ambulatory and Outpatient Pharmacy Services.
