Police Officer Recruit

The City of Bellingham is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer Recruit to participate in formal and on-the-job training in law enforcement principles, techniques, and procedures. Upon successful completion of the Police Academy, employees will advance to the Full Performance Police Officer classification to perform independent law enforcement duties, including patrolling, criminal investigations, and community policing. The role requires the responsible exercise of judgment in critical emergency situations and involves sworn duties on behalf of the Police Department and the City of Bellingham.
