Police Officer

The Police Officer position is responsible for a wide range of law enforcement functions to maintain law and order, promote public safety and security, and prevent crime. The incumbent may be assigned to a specialty area within the Police Department depending on operational needs. Upon completion of P.O.S.T. Certification, the successful candidate must possess knowledge of law enforcement and terminology, including criminal investigation, law enforcement and crime prevention, first-aid principles and techniques, report preparation and record keeping, and human behavior theories related to criminology, crisis intervention, and crowd control.
