ANTICOV Trial
The Policy Advocacy Manager advances progressive R&D policies to meet the needs of neglected patients, combining global advocacy responsibilities with regional support for South and South-East Asia. The role involves developing targeted advocacy strategies, conducting research and analysis, creating policy content, and coordinating campaigns to influence policy change. The position also provides strategic support to the Policy Advocacy Director and collaborates with internal teams to disseminate policy positions.
The ANTICOV clinical trial aimed to identify treatments to treat mild and moderate cases of COVID-19 early and prevent hospitalizations in low-resource settings across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Launched in September 2020 by a 27-organization consortium coordinated by the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), it was one of the largest multi-country trials focusing exclusively on mild and moderate COVID-19 cases. The study was completed in December 2022, and its collaborative momentum led to the creation of the PANTHER platform to strengthen pandemic preparedness in Africa.
