Policy Counsel- State Policy

The Policy Counsel- State Policy role at the Center for Responsible Lending involves tracking state legislation and rulemakings, building legal arguments for policy positions, and producing comment letters, testimony, and amicus briefs. The position requires owning priority issues, providing litigation support, and building relationships with legislators, regulators, and coalition partners to advance consumer protection and financial equity. This hybrid role is based in Durham, NC or Oakland, CA, and reports to the Director of State Policy.
