About this role

Tangent Materials is seeking a Polymer Testing Engineer to support the characterization, weathering evaluation, and durability assessment of thermoplastic composite materials and products. This role focuses on accelerated and natural weathering programs, thermal cycling, UV exposure, and failure analysis to correlate laboratory exposure with real-world performance. The engineer collaborates with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to evaluate materials, develop testing programs, and provide technical recommendations based on experimental data.

Responsibilities

Design and conduct accelerated weathering programs to evaluate material durability
Perform thermal and rheological characterization using DSC, TGA, and rheometry
Conduct failure analysis and root-cause investigations using analytical techniques

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering or science discipline
