About this role

The Opferman Laboratory at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to investigate how mitochondrial biology and the BCL-2 family protein MCL-1 regulate normal hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, lineage commitment, and cellular stress responses, and how these pathways are altered in acute myeloid leukemia and other hematologic malignancies. The role involves integrating molecular and cellular biology, mouse genetics, biochemistry, cancer biology, metabolism, epigenetics, genomics, proteomics, and advanced imaging to uncover mechanisms that could inform new therapies for hematologic diseases.

Responsibilities

Investigate mitochondrial biology and MCL-1 in hematopoiesis
Conduct mouse genetics and advanced imaging experiments
Analyze metabolic and epigenetic pathways in leukemic stem cells
