The University of Edinburgh is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to define the contribution of cellular senescence to lung injury and inflammation using translationally relevant human models. The role involves utilizing a high-content image analysis-based cell painting assay to characterize senescent cells and optimize it for high-throughput screening to identify novel senolytic or senomorphic drugs. Lead candidate molecules will be tested in a clinically relevant human precision cut lung slice model of irradiation-induced senescence.
