This postdoctoral position involves designing, building, and operating a next-generation cryogenic ion trap system for a 176Lu+ clock from the ground up. The role focuses on integrating cryogenic platforms with precision RF trap electrodes and optical access to achieve ultra-low systematic uncertainty. The successful candidate will lead apparatus construction, characterise system performance, and contribute to the broader clock programme through publications and presentations.
