This role involves conducting research within the Neurobiology Division of the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology to understand the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration, specifically focusing on alpha-synuclein filaments. The position requires developing methods to form these filaments in vitro, in cells, and in animals, utilizing techniques such as cryo-EM, immunoprecipitation, and mass spectrometry. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Michel Goedert and collaborate with other divisions and external groups to advance disease mechanism understanding.
