About this role

As a Power Systems Engineer I at Caterpillar's Electric Power Division, you will design, develop, and implement generator control switchgear systems for complex power applications. You will execute automation solutions ranging from retrofitting legacy systems to commissioning new projects using PLCs and HMIs. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance, safety, and customer satisfaction across critical infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

Execute design and programming of low- and medium-voltage generator paralleling control systems
Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance
Participate in technical risk assessment and support field performance of assigned projects
Provide technical support to Sales and Product Support teams for escalations
Train technicians and customers on system maintenance and operational troubleshooting
