Base Power
As a Power Systems Engineering Intern on Base’s Risk & Trading team, you’ll help model how our network of distributed residential batteries interacts with the grid, at both the distribution and transmission levels. During your internship you’ll be tasked with important problems for the business and expected to deliver just like any other full-time member of the team. You’ll work alongside Base’s power systems engineers on power flow studies, grid models, and the analysis behind where our batteries are deployed and how they’re dispatched.
Base Power is a retail energy company serving homeowners across Texas and Illinois, offering low fixed-rate electricity plans paired with integrated home battery backup. Their battery system provides whole-home backup protection at a fraction of the cost of a traditional generator, with no solar required. Base Power also participates in grid support by using member batteries during demand spikes, allowing the company to keep energy costs low for its customers.
