About this role

The Principal Actuation Systems Engineer at Vertical Aerospace is responsible for the technical ownership of developing and integrating all-electric actuation systems for the VX4 eVTOL aircraft. This role includes defining technical requirements, collaborating with suppliers, managing system interfaces, and ensuring compliance with aerospace certification standards. The engineer will critically evaluate supplier designs, oversee installations, and produce essential documentation to facilitate certification and project milestones. Proficiency in CATIA and Jama, alongside expertise in aerospace engineering and electric actuation systems, is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Experience with aerospace certification processes (e.g., EASA, FAA) is highly desirable.Familiarity with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-160, DO-178, DO-254).
