About this role

A Principal Embedded Software Engineer serves as a technical leader responsible for defining software architecture and leading complex embedded software projects within the Electro Optical Infrared Systems business unit. This role combines deep hands-on expertise in C, C++, and real-time systems with project leadership duties, including mentoring teams and guiding technical decisions for mission-critical products.

Responsibilities

Define software architectures for complex embedded systems and mission-critical products
Lead technical strategy, design reviews, and architectural decisions across disciplines
Develop, integrate, debug, and verify embedded software for real-time systems
Lead small software development teams while remaining an active technical contributor
Manage technical risks and communicate project status to engineering leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Software EngineeringDOD Security Clearance active or ability to obtainU.S. Citizenship required
