About this role

The Principal Flight Control Laws Engineer at Vertical Aerospace is responsible for leading the design, development, and validation of advanced, certifiable control laws for the VX4 eVTOL aircraft. This role involves overseeing the architecture and tuning of non-linear dynamic inversion control laws, ensuring they meet strict performance and safety standards across all flight operations. Additionally, the engineer will collaborate with multiple teams to drive technical direction, support integration into the flight control environment, and lead verification strategies for certification compliance. The position also includes mentoring team members and serving as a key technical liaison for certification authorities and suppliers.
