Octavia Carbon
Octavia Carbon is seeking a Process Design Engineer to design, commission, and improve systems that capture CO₂ from ambient air and regenerate sorbents. The role involves owning assigned systems from concept through detailed engineering, procurement, commissioning, and performance validation, with a focus on reducing energy use, water demand, and cost per tonne of CO₂ captured. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize capture cycles, define utility requirements, and lead troubleshooting and commissioning efforts.
Octavia Carbon is a Kenyan climate-tech company and the Global South's first Direct Air Capture (DAC) company, focused on developing, manufacturing, and deploying DAC technology that extracts CO₂ directly from the atmosphere for secure geological storage. The company leverages Kenya's abundant renewable geothermal energy and basaltic rock formations in the Rift Valley to operate cost-effectively and store carbon durably. Octavia Carbon aims to scale DAC down the cost curve while driving green industrial growth and climate justice in Kenya.
