Friends of the Children — Western Montana is a nonprofit that provides long-term, professional one-to-one mentoring for children and youth across Western Montana. They pair youth—especially those impacted by foster care, trauma, or economic hardship—with salaried mentors who commit for years and deliver regular coaching, advocacy, life-skills supports and family-focused (two-generation) services, including a local Clubhouse. The chapter partners with communities like the Flathead Nation and runs volunteer, fundraising, and community programs to sustain and expand mentoring. Their approach emphasizes sustained relationships and measurable outcomes to disrupt intergenerational cycles and help young people achieve stability and success.
