YSS is seeking a motivated, part-time Recovery Specialist to provide encouragement, structure, and support for youth in residential addiction treatment. The role involves building positive relationships, facilitating groups, coaching healthy habits, and helping residents develop the confidence and life skills needed for successful recovery. This position focuses on mentorship and creating a safe, welcoming home environment rather than clinical therapy.
YSS is one of Iowa's oldest and largest nonprofits, empowering youth and families for over 50 years through shelter, counseling, mental health services, and life skills programs. The organization operates initiatives including homeless youth services, residential addiction treatment (Ember Recovery), foster care advocacy, and opioid prevention education. YSS serves tens of thousands of youth and families each year across Iowa with a mission of putting kids first.
