About this role

MercyOne is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages on a fast‑paced, 40‑bed medical‑surgical unit. The RN will assess, plan, and implement care, coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges, and guide patient care technicians while adhering to nursing standards and hospital policies. The position works rotating 12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, and requires Iowa RN licensure, BLS certification, and mandatory reporter training.

Responsibilities

Assess and implement nursing care for acutely ill adults
Coordinate patient admission, transfer, and discharge
Guide and direct patient care technicians
Utilize IV pumps and monitoring equipment to ensure safety
Provide emergency support measures such as CPR
