A Level 2 Research Assistant/Technician in the Huntsman Laboratory provides technical support for cell and molecular biology within ovarian and rare cancer research programs. The role involves hands-on maintenance of cell cultures, viral work, and advanced techniques like immunohistochemistry and western blotting under the direction of senior scientists. Candidates will gain exposure to translational research while potentially assisting in the supervision of graduate students.

Responsibilities

Maintain cell cultures and generate new cell lines using lentiviral transduction
Perform immunohistochemistry and western blotting techniques on tissue samples
Conduct viral work including production, isolation, and infection procedures
Execute qPCR, DNA extractions, library preparation, and cloning protocols
Develop and implement standard operating protocols for laboratory procedures
