A Research Assistant in Integrated Photonics will advance the design, fabrication, and characterization of next-generation hybrid photonic devices for applications in lasers, RF photonics, LiDAR, and quantum sensing. The role focuses on heterogeneously integrated systems, semiconductor laser physics, and end-to-end system demonstrations using advanced photonic platforms. This position involves working with cutting-edge technologies to publish high-impact research and lead device runs from layout through fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities

Design and simulate integrated photonic devices on heterogeneous platforms
Develop and fabricate hybrid semiconductor lasers and frequency-comb sources
Characterize optical and RF performance using advanced measurement setups
Publish first-author papers in top-tier photonics journals and conferences
Lead device runs from layout submission through packaging and assembly
