About this role

Harmonic is seeking a Research Engineer to architect and optimize its proprietary reinforcement learning training and inference infrastructure. The role focuses on maximizing throughput for foundation model workloads and production workflows by owning the entire stack, from low-level CUDA kernels to distributed training loops. This position requires a deep understanding of high-performance computing and ML frameworks to resolve bottlenecks in multi-node GPU clusters.

Responsibilities

Maintain and optimize proprietary RL training and serving infrastructure
Maximize throughput of reinforcement learning system from data generation to model training
Optimize inference stack for high-throughput reinforcement learning and low-latency LLM production traffic
