The Respiratory Therapy Student Extern assists in restoring patients to optimal health by applying scientific tests and treatments for the cardiorespiratory system. Working as part of a coordinated team with physicians and healthcare providers, the role provides emergent, diagnostic, critical, and restorative care to patients with heart and lung disease. The position operates under the supervision of licensed practitioners and leadership to deliver comprehensive respiratory care.

Responsibilities

Deliver routine and advanced respiratory therapy modes per physician orders
Monitor and interpret invasive and noninvasive physiological testing systems
Initiate CPR and respond to Code Blue and disaster calls
