About this role

The Cardiac Device Specialist provides comprehensive assessment and management of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED) for patients, including initial analysis of pacemakers, ICDs, and IRLs. This role involves collaborating with electrophysiologists, cardiologists, and device clinic nurses to ensure safe and proficient patient care through in-person evaluations and remote device transmissions. The specialist is responsible for troubleshooting device issues, educating patients, and maintaining accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

Perform CIED interrogation and evaluate device status and patient response to pacing
Troubleshoot CIED issues and manage device or lead malfunctions for optimal patient outcomes
Educate patients on device function and coordinate care with healthcare team members

Skills

Qualifications

Associate degree in an Allied Health related fieldCertificate of course completion through Arrhythmia Technologies Institute, PrepMD or similar programBLSACLSCertified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS)
