RN, Central Venous Line, 5NT

The Registered Nurse, Central Line Nurse, Vascular Access Team (VAT), is responsible for implementing and sustaining evidence-based clinical practices to prevent and monitor central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) across the hospital. This role ensures the safe maintenance and management of central venous lines for patients in all care settings while providing specialized education to clinical staff and patient families. The nurse also collects and analyzes data related to vascular access outcomes and infection rates to support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
