The RN First Assistant (RNFA) provides intra-operative surgical first assistance under the surgeon’s supervision and also serves as a Registered Nurse to support perioperative patient care. The role contributes to clinical education and mentorship and supports the organization’s mission, values, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications
- Graduation from Surgical First Assistant Program
- RN License (Virginia or Compact)
- Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR)
- AHA BLS Provider CPR
- BSN (Preferred)
- Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) (Preferred)
- Associate's Degree acceptable (BSN required within 5 years)
