A Registered Nurse (RN) 2 in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides care for step-down cardiac and medically acute patients—such as post-stent, post-cardiac catheterization, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure exacerbations, and pacemaker placements—within a 20-bed telemetry unit. The role is centered on monitoring and assessing patients who require more observation than a medical/surgical unit but do not need ICU-level care. The position requires completion of an accredited nursing program and state RN licensure.
