The RN Specialty Coordinator — Referral Queue at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Preoperative Assessment Clinic serves as the clinical owner of the preoperative referral queue, performing advanced chart review and applying specialty-specific criteria to determine appropriate preoperative pathways. It supports safe, efficient surgical throughput and prevents inappropriate or late scheduling discoveries.
