About this role

A Registered Nurse in the 5W Intensive Care Unit provides direct, complex nursing care to critically ill adult patients, often involving intubation and central lines. The role requires developing care plans, collaborating with interprofessional teams, and maintaining a constant state of alertness in a high-acuity environment. Nurses rotate through 7p-7a and 7a-7p shifts with every third weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to complex critical care patients
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment
Collaborate with interprofessional teams to identify optimal outcomes
Utilize clinical judgment to manage intubated and unstable patients
Evaluate patient progress and maintain current clinical knowledge
